VHS Football Boosters: Description of Board Positions
We are a volunteer parent organization and all parents of football players are members. All members are asked to vote for a new Football Booster Board
at the beginning of each season (typically in May). The Football Booster Board and members are responsible for making every football season a success. As an organization we support the
student athletes, the coaching staff and their needs, and the Program in
general. We assist the coaches in their fundraising efforts as
determined each year by the Head Coach. The proceeds from these
efforts is donated to the Valhalla Football Trust and is used to purchase items the coaching staff feel is necessary i.e. uniforms, field equipment, coaches stipends, scholarships for football players, etc.
The Football Booster‘s primary fundraiser is the snack bar (home games).
Other fundraisers augment these funds, and with them we pay for:
- nutrition snacks for all players for 10 weeks,
- attendance at the football banquet for coaches and all student athletes,
- an end-of-year gift for each player,
- flowers for Senior Parent Night, and
- a photo of each player and his parents/escorts.
We provide financial assistance to those families who are unable to pay for their football experience (any player who is in need of financial assistance must have a parent
discuss the issue with the Head Coach. Such discussions are handled with the utmost in discretion).
